POKOTABI / Zaku
旬の鮮魚と日本酒 作 ‐ザク‐
At Zaku in Uchikanda, diners can enjoy Toyosu-sourced sashimi assortments, braised beef tendon, all-you-can-drink sake courses, and value lunch sets.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A chilled glass of local sake pairs naturally with thick slices of fresh raw fish. Situated in Uchikanda, Zaku offers an unpretentious setting for sampling regional sakes alongside classic seafood and meat izakaya dishes. Fresh fish takes centre stage, anchored by sashimi platters sourced directly from Toyosu alongside individual cuts of tuna, horse mackerel, and fatty salmon. At midday, nearby workers rely on reasonably priced lunch sets—including fatty sashimi platters, salt-grilled mackerel, and crisp chicken karaage—served with free upgrades to large bowls of rice.
The evening menu expands into rich, savoury meat options designed to complement a drink, such as slow-simmered beef tendon, crunchy wagyu menchi-katsu, and the house speciality, Miyazaki beef sirloin steak. Bottles from celebrated breweries include Zaku (sharing its name with the restaurant), Denshu, Kokuryu, and Hakkaisan. Seasonal all-you-can-drink banquet courses remain a popular choice, and private dining rooms provide a lively, comfortable backdrop for after-work gatherings and casual nights out with friends.
